INVADERS FROM MARS

You can't beat a good B-Movie. You literally can't beat them. Thanks to the wonderful decision to begin airing the treasure trove of the infamous and lesser known B movies by World Movies Channel, SBS and ABC, I now have infinite access to some of the most enjoyable romps into genre filmmaking ever made.
Check this one out. Invaders From Mars. It is 53 years old and looks every second of it.
Why do all the children in these movies all act so over the top? Were there no child actors that could act restrained in 1953? Srsly. The kid in this movie doesn't just say 'Gee Whiz!' he SCREAMS it.
The martians are the highlight, as usual, and also, as it is with almost every other B-Movie, you have to sit through about half an hour of military stock footage for no apparent reason. Apparently it was a popular trend to edit into your film extremely damaged prints of tanks test-firing mortars. It's my one complaint.
Nevertheless, see this film.
